FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

THE DETAILS.

01What does SADBrunch stand for?+

Originally “Saturdays Are A Drag Brunch,” SADBrunch now programs LGBTQ+ activations including brunches, night events, drag bingo, fundraisers, Pride events, and more.

02How long are the events?+

Most events require a two- to three-hour time slot.

Common brunch times: 10:30 AM–1 PM, 11 AM–2 PM, or 12–3 PM.

Night events: seated drag shows commonly run 7–10 PM; nightlife events may begin at 10 PM and continue later.

03What is a sample drag-brunch run of show?+
  • 11:00 AM — DJ begins and doors open
  • 11:00 AM — Guests arrive, mingle and dine
  • 12:15 PM — First show
  • 1:00 PM — Intermission
  • 1:10 PM — Second show
  • 1:45 PM — Show concludes
  • 1:45–2:00 PM — Meet-and-greet, photos and DJ
04How much are tickets?+

À la carte admission-only tickets generally range from $20–$30, depending on the market and type of event.

05Can the venue sell the tickets?+

Yes. Venues that sell and retain their own ticket revenue use the Franchise Buy-Out Model and pay SADBrunch a flat production rate. Buy-out rates vary based on venue capacity, date, market and programming.

06What are the age limits?+

Drag brunches and nightlife events are typically 21+, although some venues allow 18+. Drag bingo, story hours and selected community programs can be produced for all ages.

07How many entertainers are in a show?+

Casting usually includes three to five entertainers, depending on venue size, show format, market and booking costs.

08What are the venue requirements?+
  1. Enough space for a seated or standing event with approximately 100 guests preferred.
  2. Sound capability, or advance notice if SADBrunch needs to provide equipment.
  3. A comfortable, temperature-controlled and private dressing room for entertainers.
  4. Safe performance paths with room for entertainers to engage the audience.
09Is a specific layout required?+

The event may use a seated or standing layout depending on the format. Dinner events—typically scheduled between 6–10 PM—are seated. Entertainers need clear paths to move through the room and engage guests. Most restaurant and bar layouts can be adapted successfully.

10Can the venue sell food and beverages?+

Yes. Venues are encouraged to sell and retain all food-and-beverage revenue. We recommend a curated event menu. Brunch events may use a buffet or limited menu format.

11What does the venue pay for?+

SADBrunch Model: $300–$500 per event.

Franchise Buy-Out Model: customized flat production fee—contact us for a quote.

12Who handles marketing?+

SADBrunch creates marketing collateral and provides social-media support for both models. Under the SADBrunch Model, our in-house team also manages event advertising. Venue participation—email, social posts, website placement and in-house promotion—is essential in every market.

13Who provides the sound equipment?+

We can work with the venue’s existing sound system or provide equipment when the venue does not have the needed capability. Sound requirements and any added production costs are confirmed before contracting.

14Who selects and pays the entertainers?+

SADBrunch sources, books and compensates the cast. Venues may share talent preferences, themes or audience considerations; final casting depends on availability, venue size, programming and budget.

15Can the show be customized for our venue?+

Yes. We can shape the theme, format, cast, schedule and audience experience around your venue. Options include drag brunch, dinner shows, nightlife, bingo, fundraisers, Pride programming and special-event concepts.

16Can this become a recurring series?+

Yes. Both partnership models can support recurring programming. We can build a monthly, seasonal or special-event series based on your market, capacity and sales performance.

17What does the venue need to provide on event day?+

The venue provides its normal front-of-house, bar, kitchen, security and management teams, along with the approved performance space and dressing room. Final staffing responsibilities are confirmed in the event agreement.

18How is a date confirmed?+

A date is confirmed after the show model, schedule, venue responsibilities and financial terms are approved in writing and the required agreement and payment steps are completed.
